XtremeHomes™ is looking for a Senior Interior Designer / Department Head with the flexibility and zeal to take on challenges and lead the Interiors Group into a leading edge team focused on leading the way in green interiors. 

SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER / DEPARTMENT HEAD

XtremeStructures is looking for a take charge individual that can think out of the box, interface with multiple disciplines, work on multiple projects in various phases simultaneously and take initiative on creating processes within the Interiors group.

The position requires that the person filling this Interior Design position is a multi-faceted professional that is creative and can apply technical solutions that are applied within a structure to achieve a built interior environment. These solutions are functional, enhance the quality of life and culture of the occupants, and are aesthetically attractive.  As a company, we are involved with a wide variety of architectural styles ranging from ultra-modern to classic architecture.  Projects vary from high-end residential to high-density infill, commercial and institutional.

The person filling this position must be able to work outside of the box.  In order for a project to be cohesive, the interiors team must be able to coordinate with the project team throughout the entire building shell.  All designs produced must adhere to code and regulatory requirements.  As a company with an established position in green construction, we maintain a constant focus on environmental sustainability.

This position requires that the interior design team follows a systematic and coordinated methodology, including research, analysis and integration of knowledge into the creative process, whereby the needs and resources of the client are satisfied to produce an interior space that fulfills the project goals.

Pluses would include ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) certification, NKBA (National Kitchen and Bath Association) certification and/or ILAD (International Association of Lighting Designers) certification.

Members of the Interior design team will be required to perform any or all of the following tasks:

§  Meetings with clients to determine budgets, project scope and finishes.  This also includes on-going proactive communication with clients.

§  Research and analysis of the client's goals and requirements;

§  Development of documents, drawings and diagrams that outline client’s needs;

§  Formulation of preliminary space plans and two and three dimensional design concept studies and sketches that integrate the client's program needs and are based on knowledge of the principles of interior design and theories of human behavior. 

§  Experience in AutoCAD, 20/20, Microvellum, or other 3D CAD environments and/or Sketch-up is a plus;

§  Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS PowerPoint;

§  Confirmation that preliminary space plans and design concepts are safe, functional, aesthetically appropriate, and meet all public health, safety and welfare requirements, including code, accessibility, environmental, and sustainability guidelines;

§  Selection of colors, materials and finishes to appropriately convey the design concept, and to meet functional, low-maintenance, life-cycle performance, environmental, and safety requirements;

§  Selection and specification of fixtures (lighting and plumbing), flooring, surfaces, doors and hardware, cabinetry and millwork, including layout drawings and detailed product description; and provision of documentation to facilitate pricing and procurement;

§  Provision of project management services, including preparation of project budgets and schedules;

§  Interfacing with the architectural team for the preparation of construction documents, consisting of plans, elevations, details and specifications, to illustrate power and communications locations and lighting designs; materials and finishes;

§  Interfacing with the architectural team for the preparation of construction documents to adhere to regional building and fire codes, municipal codes, and any other jurisdictional statutes, regulations and guidelines applicable to the interior space;

§  Coordination and collaboration with other allied design professionals who may be retained to provide consulting services, including but not limited to architects; structural, mechanical and electrical engineers, and various specialty consultants;

§  Observation and quality review and reporting on the implementation of projects within the off-site built factory environment.
