About Us

XtremeHomes™ is a leading environmentally focused, off-site built (modular and prefab) home producer. XtremeHomes provides a diverse array of architectural styles from ultra-modern to highly detailed alpine mountain homes. Our product offerings address a variety of consumers with our entry level Neighborhood Series™, to an Xtreme Custom™ house or a house from one of our Signature Series™ architects. Through its ongoing research and development, XtremeHomes focuses on ways to produce homes with less environmental impact, that are more energy efficient, are healthier and of higher quality. XtremeHomes, an Energy Star® partner, endeavors to build all of its houses to Energy Star®, LEED® and Build It Green® standards.

Environmentally Focused

The team at XtremeHomes is constantly making strides to produce houses that utilize fewer environmental resources. We do this by utilizing high quality products that are made from recycled products, FSC wood products and other products that are low-impact products.

When we select and purchase products that go into our houses, we make sure that we purchase no or low VOC adhesives, caulks and paints. We also strive to purchase cabinets and lumber that are free of formaldehyde and other unhealthy chemicals. This is healthy for the environment, those who purchase our houses and our employees. Sure the environment is important but healthy customers and employees are just as important.

When it comes to health issues, building in a plant keeps the structure dry during construction, and that means fewer chances for mold to grow. Additionally, we use kiln-dried lumber, paper-less drywall in all bathrooms, and air circulation systems – another defense against mold. We all know that mold is one of the top health issues facing our society today, and we are striving to attack the problem on several fronts.

However, being Environmentally Focused is more than the products we purchase; it is about the company commitment. We operate our plant on a four day per week, 10 hour day production schedule. This means we have an off-set of 502,653 pounds of CO2/year less just through effective scheduling. By bringing our material to the plant in bulk versus the standard way of hundreds of trips to the construction site, we have an off-set of 2,579,408 pounds of CO2/year less. We strive to recycle every piece of construction material that is not used in the construction of our off-site built houses. However, there is more – because we build in a factory environment, we have a much higher degree of material reuse. On the standard construction site, a plumber may throw a 2 foot piece of pipe into the debris pile. We make sure that the that piece of pipe utilized in one of the next house coming down the line. The same goes for drywall, lumber, caulk, adhesive, etc. – this can’t be said for the average construction site. If we cannot use it, we figure out how to recycle it.

The houses that we build are anywhere from 35-50% more energy efficient than the average house. Depending on the size of the size of the house constructed the CO2/year off-sets can be quite large in addition to smaller energy bills for our clients.

We have so many more environmental saving advantages, but we would have to write a book to list all of the advantages. Needless to say, when you purchase a house from XtremeHomes, you are doing your part in saving the environment.

Quality Focused

We know that in the past there has been a different standard of construction quality based on economic position. However, in many cases there is a perceived standard of quality. At XtremeHomes we have decided to mix things up a little. First of all, we do not care if you are purchasing a 1,000 square foot entry level house from our Neighborhood Series™ or a 10,000 square foot Xtreme Custom™ house – all houses that we construct are built with the highest quality components yielding highly defined structural integrity and high performance energy standards. Once the base structure is built, the finishes and options are what makes the difference between a Neighborhood Series™ or an Xtreme Custom™ house.

One of XtremeHomes founding principle is that all employees are trained to the Zero Defect standards outlined in the Total Quality Management (TQM) management strategy. This very foundational principle sets XtremeHomes apart from the majority of the construction industry.

Architectural Diversity

At Xtreme, we build a very diverse architectural palette. At any one time, you might see an ultra modern house on the production line with large expanses of glass and stainless, a standard ranch style house commonly seen throughout the countryside, a detailed alpine house with intricate details that would make the house the envy of any mountain resort, a pastel colored Victorian with detailed gingerbread, a Mediterranean house with thick walls and exposed beams or a bungalow that would fit neatly in a community such as Pasadena where the architects Greene and Greene created their masterpieces.

Whatever style is best suited for your project is one that we have probably already had some experience at building in our plant.

Ongoing Research and Development

Everyday, members of the Xtreme team are constantly challenging the way that we build our product. We continue to ask the hard questions like how could we have done the last project better? What new materials are available that would make our product better? The motto that we use when doing our extensive R&D is “have a healthy disregard for the impossible.”
